Eightwire
2022 re-design of the Eightwire corporate website
While at Eightwire, I had the opportunity to re-design their corporate website and bring new life into it with reworked graphics, some updated content, and a fresh colour palette. The result is a site that is both informative and engaging for new customers, with a look and feel that aligns with their brand identity.
Tools: Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator
Eightwire is a Software as a Service company whose product is a data-sharing platform that automates the movement and management of sensitive data. They engage with many organisations throughout New Zealand in a range of industries, including Healthcare, Finance, Agriculture, and Government.
At the beginning of 2022, Eightwire wanted a refresh of their website, as their previous site was outdated in both content and visual design. The re-design gives new customers and potential partners a much better impression of the company, as it is much more informative, engaging, and easier to navigate. We also made it a priority to have more inclusive imagery that showed the diversity of people within Eightwire.
The colour palette in the previous design was quite stark and over-saturated, while the graphics were very flat and angular. For the new design, I have muted the colours and used gradients to which give depth. Curves are used to break up the sections (rather than just straight lines) which creates a more organic and playful flow to the pages.
For type, I opted for Open sans, which is a professional and legible typeface that has many different weights to offer, and looks good as both larger point-sized headings and smaller point-sized body/captions.
When building the sitemap for the new website, we had our standard Industries, Partners, Resources, and Company pages. A new pricing page was included in the main navigation — we wanted to avoid the common problem where sites have their pricing hidden and inaccessible to users. A careers page was added as Eightwire is expanding and are seeking more talent to join their team in the future. As the Eightwire service is quite complex and highly technical, a "learn" page was necessary in order to help a general audience understand the world of data exchange and give customers insight into the Eightwire product and process.

The final website was built in WordPress. I worked with developer, Mike, to iron out details and bring the new site to fruition. It is exciting to see my prototype come to life as a fully functioning website.
